Taissa Farmiga portrayed Gladys Russell in The Gilded Age and season three ended with a big surprise for her character.
It’s discovered that she’s pregnant and expecting her first child with her husband, the Duke of Buckingham (Ben Lamb).
Now, she’s reflecting on her character’s story line this season, and what she wishes could have happened.
“I wish there was a tiny bit more time between Gladys being a maiden who needs a husband, to having freedom, then immediately having a child. I wish there was a tiny bit of time in between to maybe join a charity or something. But I’m ready to do my duty. It’ll be interesting to see how she is as a mother of the next generation in the 1880s, whether she’ll push for freedom or push for inherited karma. You never know,” Taissa told TV Line.
She added to People, “It’d be interesting to see what kind of parent Gladys turns into. As we found out by the end of season 3, she’s definitely Russell and George Russell’s daughter. So I’m curious how that that seeps into her parenting skills.”
