“Grieve how you want — but don’t tell me how to love my father.” Brooke Hogan fires back at online critics after skipping WWE’s tributes to her late dad, Hulk Hogan. In a powerful statement, she defends her absence and sets the record straight: “You don’t know what I’ve lived through. You don’t get to judge my silence.” Not all mourning looks like flowers and front rows — some grief comes with scars.

  • Brooke Hogan said the WWE did not invite her to attend the Monday Night Raw program that included a tribute to her father Hulk
  • The wrestling icon’s son Nick Hogan was in attendance at the tribute
  • Brooke slammed the people “giving me crap for not attending”

Brooke Hogan called out people giving her a hard time after she wasn’t in attendance at the WWE’s tributes to her late father Hulk Hogan.

The WWE paid tribute to Hulk, who died at age 71 on July 24, on two nights — first during Friday Night Smackdown a day after his death, and again on Monday Night RAW. The wrestling icon’s son, Nick Hogan, was in attendance for Monday’s show, but Brooke, 37, who has been estranged from her father for two years, was not.

In a post on Instagram on July 30, Brooke took to Instagram to call out the people who criticized her for not being there — and set the record straight.

“For those of you giving me crap for not attending my Dad’s tributes, @wwe did not extend an invite.”

PEOPLE has reached out to the WWE for comment.

The post comes just one day after Brooke broke her silence on her father’s death in a lengthy post. The singer said she felt it was “necessary to clear a few things up,” and explained that it was not a single “fight” or one moment that caused her estrangement from Hulk.

“It was a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand,” she said. “My father was confiding in me about issues weighing on his heart, both personal and business. I offered to be a life raft in whatever capacity he needed. I told him he had my support. I begged him to rest, to take care of himself.”

Brooke, whose mother Linda Hogan said on July 28 that she has been “weeping all day” and “melting down” since Hulk’s death, explained that she needed to “step away to protect my heart,” in the post. “He was telling me these things, being so vulnerable with me and heard my pleas, then suddenly something shifted, and he made a choice to walk the path that clearly tore at his spirit,” she continued.

“I know in my heart I did everything I could,” Brooke said. “He knew I would run through a burning building for him. And in many ways, along the path of life, I did. He knows how deeply, how hard and how purely I loved him. I am at peace knowing this.”

Hulk, who died Thursday in Clearwater, Florida after first responders were called to his home for a reported cardiac arrest, was married to Linda for 23 years before the couple split due to his infidelity.

Hulk married his second wife, Jennifer McDaniel, in 2010. They later divorced in 2021, after which he tied the knot with wife Sky Daily in September 2023.
