Sorry, Duncan — But He Doesn’t Even Come Close to Being the Standout Romantic Lead in And Just Like That Season 3
Spoiler Alert: This article contains details from And Just Like That Season 3, Episode 10, “Better Than Sex.”
While Duncan Reeves (played by Jonathan Cake) may have gotten off to a rough start, he’s gradually grown into a likable love interest. However, calling him the best romantic storyline of the season would be a stretch. First introduced in Season 3, Episode 5, Duncan’s initial dynamic with Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) was prickly — especially over her stiletto-clad stomping upstairs.
As their relationship developed, Duncan did manage to eclipse Aidan Shaw (John Corbett), Carrie’s more familiar flame from Sex and the City who returned in Season 2. Still, there’s another man this season who leaves both of them in the dust: Adam Karma (Logan Marshall-Green), the thoughtful and captivating new love interest of Seema Patel (Sarina Choudhury).
Why Adam Karma Deserves the Title of Season 3’s Best Romantic Addition
Seema Patel May Have Found the Real Deal

Adam Karma emerges as the season’s most emotionally resonant and compelling partner. In Episode 10, “Better Than Sex,” he invites Seema to his rent-controlled apartment and shares a touching story about a plant that reminds him of his late mother. When Seema accidentally knocks it out the window while smoking, her guilt consumes her — she won’t answer Adam’s calls or even face him.
But Adam responds not with anger, but with compassion. He later shows up at Seema’s office, not only to reassure her but to reveal that he’d salvaged clippings of the fallen plant — and plans to grow it anew. It’s a small gesture that speaks volumes.
Adam isn’t just understanding — he’s deeply thoughtful. His ability to comfort Seema and turn an awkward situation into a hopeful one shows the kind of emotional maturity that’s rare. In a season full of fleeting sparks, Adam brings depth, patience, and genuine affection — the kind of partner anyone would want in tough times.
While Miranda’s partner Joy (Dolly Wells) and Duncan himself each have their own merits, it’s Adam’s steady presence and heartfelt gestures that make him the most memorable romantic addition of And Just Like That Season 3.
Built to Last: Adam and Seema’s Relationship Has Real Staying Power
Carrie and Duncan’s Chemistry Fades in Comparison

Although Carrie and Duncan shared an impulsive, passionate night in Episode 10, their future seems uncertain — especially after Duncan reveals he’s returning to London. Adam and Seema, by contrast, are grounded in something more meaningful. Their bond is built on honesty, emotional intelligence, and a sense of fun that feels effortless.
A standout moment came in Episode 7, when Seema, embarrassed by an eye patch from a beauty mishap, attends Carrie and Miranda’s impromptu party. Rather than be put off, Adam embraces the moment — serenading her with a karaoke rendition of “Bette Davis Eyes” to lift her spirits. It’s spontaneous, sweet, and speaks to his genuine affection for her.
Unfortunately, fans won’t get to see more of their story unfold. And Just Like That will wrap after Season 3, as confirmed by showrunner Michael Patrick King. But if the show ends with Seema and Adam still together, it would be a hopeful conclusion — one that suggests their love story is just beginning, even if the series isn’t.
