Netflix has released Bleeding Hearts, an 8-part drama based on the real-life tainted blood scandal — one of the worst medical disasters in modern history. Following families shattered by HIV and hepatitis, this haunting series exposes betrayal, heartbreak, and a tragedy some say is darker and more devastating than Chernobyl.

Based on true events, the series sheds light on the 1980s international tainted blood scandal, focusing on two families with haemophiliac sons who are impacted by the tragedy, which saw thousands of people infected by tainted blood.
